Updating an UpdatePanel through a LinkButton command generated by a repeater

Hi everybody,

I would like to refresh an update panel when I click on a Linkbutton generated by a repeater that looks like this:

 </li>
 </ItemTemplate>
</asp:Repeater>

The command called is the following:   

 protected void FilterByPrize(object sender, CommandEventArgs E){string connString ="connstring"; SqlConnection IVR =new SqlConnection(connString);string finalquery ="sqlquery " + E.CommandArgument.ToString() +" order by TimeStamp desc"; SqlDataSource2.SelectCommand = finalquery; SqlDataSource2.DataBind(); userData.DataBind();} 

The problem with this is that it reloads the whole page instead of only the update panel. Is there a way to refresh the updatepanel from a function in the c# code called from a linkbutton?

The update panel has an Update() method that will do this. But I'm afraid that you are going to have register the linkbutton with the update panel. Take a look at this thread.

Updating gridview without postback

Hi!

I want to refresh a gridview without doing postback every second and for do it I use a System.Timer.

I have the grid into an updatepanel and I want to know how can I make, from the elapsed event of the timer, to refresh the grid.

I am trying to use theICallbackEventHandlerbut I can't reach my target.

Could anyone said me if I can do it and how could I do?

I have search code samples but they aren't useful for me.

Try this:

Put a button on the form somewhere, set the onclick event to trigger an update of the gridview. Check that pressing this button updates the gridview as expected.

Make this button invisible by using style='Display:none;'.

On the timer elapsed event add a call to myButton.Click();

Finally I have used the Anthem.net library and its panel component. It was very easy working with it doing the refresh without the postback.

Upgraded to AJAX Beta 2 - Now getting IE error Operation Aborted

...and page fails to load. If you refresh all is ok.

All I have used is Autoextender and updatepanel on the page with a master page.

Any ideas what this bug is and how to fix it?

You may have a ScriptManager on your master page, but you may want to add additional script or service references in your content page. However, you can only have one ScriptManager on your page. Therefore we have the accompanying ScriptManagerProxy control.

I also upgraded to Beta 2 and now getting this error : but it is intermitant and really dont know what bit of code is doing it.

I installed Ajax Beta 2 and future CTP Novemner in my PC.I could accesswww.destinationrussia.com through IE 7.0,FireFox and Opera and found the web page was loaded correctly for the first time.There are no any browser errors happened.Can you post some error message here?

its a very intermittant error... i am driving myself crazy dealing with it to, as i cannot replicate it on demand
